School for Education Research & Engagement

(with a focus on Whole School Development or Science and Mathematics Education)

This programme will induct educators into the academic study of Education, as well as allow for the exchanging of ideas with colleagues in education and increase knowledge and expertise in critical areas of education.

Admission Requirements

The faculty selects students for the programme from applicants who are in possession of a qualification on, or equivalent to, NQF level 6.

Course Content

All students must complete ten modules in order to obtain the B Ed Hons degree. The curriculum consists of four core modules, which all students complete, and six elective modules, which are chosen from one of the Focus Areas.

The two focus areas are: Educational Psychology, Whole School Development, Mathematics and Science Education.

Duration

Lectures are presented on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons and on Saturday mornings at the Missionvale Campus. Full time students attend on Tuesdays and Thursdays.  Part time students attend either on Thursday or Saturday.

Full-time students may enroll in PE only.
